As we enter fog and winter weather season, we want to remind you of our process closing and delaying school.
Making the decision to delay or close school is done with the safety of our students in mind. Road conditions, visibility, temperature, and wind chill are all factor into making these critical decisions. Our goal is to always make the decision to close or delay prior to 6:30AM.
When weather conditions make it necessary to close or delay school, SchoolMessenger will deliver a recorded message to all student's home phone number that you provided in PowerSchool. Fredericktown Schools will also utilize the following outlets for our school closing/delay information:
Occasionally, instead of cancelling school, me may utilize a 2 hour delay. A 2 hour delay allows for many things. It gives the village and township crews time to begin clearing the roads without the additional school traffic. It also allows us to get a better read on the weather and gives us time to clear our property for the start of school. As in the past, a delay may turn into a cancellation depending on the conditions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of all our Fredericktown students.
