Attendance Quick Facts

It is important for every student to attend school every day. Missing too much school has long-term, negative effects on students, such as lower achievement and graduation rates. In December 2016, the Ohio General Assembly passed House Bill 410 to encourage and support a preventative approach to excessive absences and truancy. Fredericktown Local Schools is implementing the changes required by House Bill 410, which is encompassed in detail in the Student/Parent Handbook. Click here to download the quick facts.

Cafeteria Charge Policy

The food service department is pleased to offer breakfast and lunch to all students. Applications for free or reduced priced meals are available at each school office and on the school web site www.fredericktownlocalschools.com. Applications may be filled out ANY time during the school year!

We understand that occasionally a child may forget his/her lunch money therefore we allow students to charge a meal under the following guidelines:

SaferOH Tip Line

Fredericktown Schools is pleased to announce that we are now utilizing the the SaferOH tip line that will accept both calls and texts 24 hours a day for schools that register for the service.  This tip line, in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Public Safety are launching allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety—whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student. Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or leave his or her contact information for later follow-up.

Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are answered by analysts in the Ohio Homeland Security’s Threat Assessment and Prevention (TAP) Unit.  When action is needed, the TAP Unit immediately forwards information to local school officials, local law enforcement agencies and others, if necessary. TAP Unit analysts always follow up quickly with the affected school and law enforcement agencies to make sure that the incident is investigated, action is taken and the outcome is tracked.

The assurance that their calls or texts cannot be traced and that serious, proper action will be taken to end the threat is helping to persuade young people to take a stand against school violence.

Parents:

Due to the amount of alert messages we have sent out in the past month, our alert system is being blocked by many email and phone providers as spam.  Therefore, Fredericktown Schools will no longer be sending out our alert text message for school closings and delays.  If you would still wish to receive a message, here are some free alternatives:

NBC4 Columbus:

WBNS Channel 10 also has some alerts (be sure you do School Closing Alerts and not HS Football Alerts):
